The Altared Grimoire Art Journal Workshop

$30.00

“Make your own Bible. Select and collect all the words and sentences that in all your readings have been to you like the blast of a trumpet.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Grimoires are books that contain a mix of spells, conjurations, natural secrets and ancient wisdom. Their origins date back to the dawn of writing and their subsequent history is entwined with that of the religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the development of science, the cultural influence of print, and the social impact of European colonialism.”-Owen Davies, professor of social history at the University of Hertfordshire

The foundation of a personal grimoire is that it is a book vessel which holds information the owner finds to be be sacred. What are you being called upon to study? Let’s gather together and create our own personal text book of the life studies you want to pursue and encompass. In this e-course workshop I will walk you through the process of the building of my own personal altered/altared grimoire through the gathering of papers and bookbinding. The book will hold many different sections which will serve as a mobile “altar” to the studies that the book will hold. We will also explore creating our own crystal infused paints and adhesives to help enhance the magic within the pages.
