The Book of Sacred Grandmothers is an art journal workbook for your personal ancestral studies. A study book of sorts, comprised of multiple journals nested inside one shared cover, one shared vessel. Each little journal can be individually removed to work within and then added back in as desired. The subject matter of each mini journal is completely up to you. I share the subjects that I chose to study but you are free to choose your own adventure 🙂
This is a deep and long journey and also very open-ended. This is something that can be worked on and added to throughout a lifetime. It can also be non-linear. Create the sections you are called to create. Follow the inspiration where it takes you!
Who are the Sacred Grandmothers? The Sacred Grandmothers are the ones who came before us, who nurtured and educated our mothers, their mothers, their mother’s mothers, and on and on throughout our ancestral lines. All of a woman’s eggs are formed while she is a fetus within her mother’s womb, this essentially means that we have all existed within our grandmother’s womb as well. Going back each generation further and further to the very beginning. We are deeply connected to the sacred Grandmothers of our Motherline. This is an experiment in rebuilding these relationships. Relationships that exist within us through our body’s cells.
Let’s take a journey and follow these lines going as far back as we can imagine. To the early days of the Motherland, wherever on the globe that might be for you.
